Project Details
Alpine Excavating & Construction was awarded the development of Granite Ridge Phase 5, a 32-lot residential subdivision located on the east bench of Willard, Utah. This project presented significant challenges due to steep elevation changes, rocky subsurface conditions, and the complexity of hillside development.
The scope included mass excavation, grading, and site balancing, requiring Alpine to overcome difficult terrain and variable native materials. Through strong field leadership and value-driven execution, Alpine processed on-site rock by crushing native material into reusable structural fill, significantly reducing import/export costs and delivering measurable savings to the developer.
Extensive grading operations were performed to transform the natural hillside into buildable, level lots, creating a functional and desirable layout while maintaining slope stability and long-term performance. The project also included installation of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and pressure-reducing valve (PRV) systems to ensure consistent and reliable water pressure across the elevation changes.
Site improvements featured construction of engineered retaining walls, enhancing both structural integrity and visual appeal while maximizing lot usability. The finished subdivision offers premium residential lots with panoramic views of the Great Salt Lake, positioned for high-end home construction.
Alpine completed Phase 5 ahead of schedule, demonstrating strong coordination and production efficiency. Following site development, Alpine continues to support the project by providing basement excavations and lot-specific services, offering a seamless, one-stop solution for builders within the Granite Ridge development.
