Project Details
Alpine Excavating & Construction was selected to deliver critical infrastructure upgrades for the Holy Oak Water Main Improvement Project in Moab, aimed at strengthening the long-term reliability and performance of the culinary water system serving Grand County.
The project consists of the installation of approximately 6,500 linear feet of 8-inch water main routed through active city corridors. This upgrade is designed to improve system capacity, maintain consistent water pressure, and support future growth within the service area. In addition to the mainline installation, the scope includes upgrading existing service laterals for both residential and commercial properties, ensuring each connection meets current standards for durability and performance.
To enhance public safety and system functionality, Alpine is installing new fire hydrants at strategic intervals to improve fire protection coverage throughout the project limits. The system will also incorporate an air vacuum (air vac) system, allowing for proper air release and vacuum protection, which is critical for maintaining pipeline integrity and preventing system failures.
Given the project's location within developed roadways and transportation corridors, Alpine is coordinating closely with the Utah Department of Transportation and local agencies to manage traffic control, roadway impacts, and permitting requirements. Phasing and scheduling are being executed to minimize disruption to the public while maintaining efficient production.
With a focus on quality, safety, and coordination, Alpine Excavating & Construction is committed to delivering a reliable and long-lasting water infrastructure system that will serve the community of Moab and Grand County for years to come.
