About the Project

Alpine Excavating & Construction is performing site civil and earthwork operations for the Moab Cooperative Development, working as a key subcontractor to Kier Construction. The project involves large-scale site preparation to support a multi-building residential development and associated infrastructure.

Scope of work includes mass excavation and grading operations with approximately 40,000 cubic yards of cut and fill, balancing the site to achieve design subgrades for building pads, roadways, and utility corridors. Alpine is working closely alongside Kier Construction to maintain schedule adherence, sequencing efficiency, and coordination across all phases of construction.

The development consists of three apartment buildings and associated amenity areas, requiring precise grading and elevation control to meet both structural and drainage requirements.

Underground utility work includes installation of water mains, sanitary sewer mains, and storm drain systems, integrated throughout the site to support residential and site infrastructure demands.

A critical component of the project is the technical dirt design and construction of multiple stormwater detention and retention pond systems, engineered to manage runoff, control drainage, and meet local and state stormwater requirements.

This project requires a high level of coordination between grading, utilities, and stormwater management systems, with a strong emphasis on production efficiency, quality control, and maintaining project schedule in a challenging desert environment.
