Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of water, sewer, storm drain, and utility systems
  • Perform trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction activities
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Load, unload, and stage materials, tools, and equipment
  • Assist equipment operators, pipe crews, and foremen as needed
  • Perform grade checking, site cleanup, and traffic control duties
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors and foremen

Qualifications

  • Previous construction or excavation experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Flagger certification

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, rollers, graders, and haul trucks
  • Perform excavation and grading activities according to project plans, specifications, and grade stakes
  • Support the installation of underground utilities, including water, sewer, storm drain, and fire line systems
  • Conduct pre-trip and daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
  • Maintain awareness of underground utilities, overhead hazards, and jobsite conditions
  • Work closely with spotters and ground personnel to ensure safe operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, utility plans, and grade information
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance, fueling, and cleaning
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred
  • Experience in civil construction, underground utilities, mass grading, or site development
  • Ability to read grade stakes, plans, and elevations
  • Knowledge of safe excavation practices and trench safety requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • GPS machine control experience
  • Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment
  • Utility excavation and pipe installation experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate side dump trailers, dump trucks, and other assigned commercial vehicles
  • Haul aggregates, soil, asphalt, demolition debris, and construction materials to and from jobsites
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections
  • Complete required logs, inspection reports, and delivery tickets accurately
  • Load and unload materials safely while maintaining proper weight distribution
  • Follow designated haul routes and comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
  • Coordinate with foremen, dispatch, and field crews to support project schedules
  • Maintain trucks and trailers in a clean and professional condition
  • Report maintenance issues, repairs, accidents, or safety concerns promptly
  • Assist with general jobsite tasks when needed
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and DOT regulations

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate required
  • Clean driving record with the ability to meet insurance requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating side dumps, dump trucks, or similar commercial vehicles preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe hauling practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Reliable transportation to and from assigned jobsites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience hauling materials for excavation, utility, or road construction projects
  • Experience operating truck and pup combinations
  • Endorsements as required by state regulations
  • Basic equipment operation experience
  • Knowledge of local pits, landfills, and haul routes throughout Northern Utah

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers multiple times per day
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while maintaining focus and attention to detail
